Terms and Policy

1. Agreement to Participate in Therapy

By scheduling and attending psychotherapy sessions at Ocean Deep Psychotherapy, you agree to voluntarily participate in therapy and engage in the process with openness and honesty. You are responsible for attending sessions, completing assigned tasks, and sharing relevant information with your therapist to support your healing journey.

2. Confidentiality and Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. All information shared during therapy is kept confidential, in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Exceptions to confidentiality may occur if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or when required by law (e.g., in cases of abuse or neglect). You will be informed in the rare case that confidentiality must be broken.

3. Session Length and Fees

Each session typically lasts 50 minutes. The fee for therapy is $150 per session for individual sessions. For couples therapy, the fee is $200 per session. We offer a sliding scale for clients who need financial assistance, based on income and circumstances. The sliding scale fee is $80. Please discuss your financial situation with us, and we will work together to find a fee that is manageable for you.  Payment is due at the start of the end of each session. Currently we only accept e-transfer.

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please provide at least 24 hours notice. Failure to provide sufficient notice will result in a cancellation fee of half the session fee. If you miss a session without notifying us in advance, you will be charged the full session fee.

5. Insurance and Payment

We do not offer direct billing to insurance providers. You will receive a receipt after each session with the necessary details to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We recommend contacting your insurance provider ahead of time to confirm coverage for therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist.

6. Communication Between Sessions

Email or phone calls between sessions are available for brief updates or clarifications. However, therapy-related concerns should primarily be addressed during scheduled sessions. Please be aware that email is not a secure form of communication, and response times may vary.

7. Emergency Services

Therapy is not a substitute for emergency or urgent care. In case of an emergency or crisis, please contact your local emergency services, a crisis helpline, or go to the nearest emergency room. Ocean Deep Psychotherapy is unable to provide emergency services or immediate crisis intervention.

8. Ending Therapy

Either you or your therapist may decide to end therapy at any time. If you choose to discontinue therapy, we encourage a final session to review your progress and discuss any ongoing needs or referrals. If we believe therapy is no longer serving your needs, we will discuss alternative treatment options or provide referrals to other providers.

9. Consent to Treatment

By scheduling an appointment, you consent to receive psychotherapy services at Ocean Deep Psychotherapy. You acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms and conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to discuss them with your therapist at any time.
